Laptop is completely useless, need a new one asap to work from - reasonably priced! Literally just need it for typing and uploading work. Thanks.

Watching with interest. Same question myself!

Sorry to be of no help to you OP!

When I asked on here why my laptop was so slow when all it was really used for was the internet and a bit of spreadsheet work, I was advised to fit a solid state hard drive and possibly up the RAM if there were slots available. I did both of these for a cost of about £150 and it's as good as new.

I didn't want to buy a new one, because it wasn't that old, was a reasonable spec and they've been saying for years that any old machine will cope with what we use it for, ie just internet and office work and no gaming or video editing so I didn't think I needed to. Plus anything was was significantly better spec was close to £1k.

Have a look at chromebooks. Mine was half the price of the equivalent laptop, as soon as you open the lid, it is ready to go. No time consuming updates. It'll do what you need it for.

Thank you I will look into both of those options!

It's been freezing and randomly beeping at me all day, so frustrating
