DP says sugar, I say jam.

Don't want to commit the offense of using it for the wrong thing!
(Was DPs Gran's, but we never actually saw her use it!).

What is this used this for?

Hmm, I would probably say jam, based on the fact that the lid has a little slot for a spoon to sit.

Pilot12 · 18/02/2020 09:11

Coal bucket? The whole in the lid is for the scoop to put the coal in the fire.

How big is it? Could be for mustard if its small. Jam if it is bigger.

RoseMartha · 18/02/2020 09:15

Sugar or jam or mustard depending on how big it is.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 18/02/2020 09:16

If You google 'Antique Jam pot' it is indeed for Jam.

Qcng · 18/02/2020 09:16

Ah, it's quite small, about 15 cm tall. The "spoon gap" would fit a skinny spoon.
