Special gifts

DH is turning 30.
I wanted to get him something special to keep, but I wanted to spend about £200-250 and then get a few smaller gifts.

I have absolutely no idea what to do though
I thought about jewellery but he doesn’t wear rings or bracelets and I think I would struggle for a nice chain in that price range

I would normally find a cheap deal for a city break and that’s what I’d planned but we’re now unable to get childcare to cover that much time.

So my question is
What did you get / what have you bought the men in your life when it’s been a big birthday / anniversary etc.

A nice watch? Tickets to a gig or sports event he wouldn't normally be able to go to

Thank you I’m looking at tickets for things.
Just with young DC it’s difficult to get childcare
Or if I stay with the dc we don’t really have anyone around (we just moved) for him to go to things with.
There are ways around it of course, but it makes it all a bit more difficult!

Can I get a nice watch in my price range? I thought my budget would be too small

This sounds a bit weird, but it was an extremely successful gift that dh still enjoys years later.

I gave him a mid-range badger-bristle shaving brush, with stand, and a shaving soap in a wooden box storage and lathering-up. He thought I was nuts at first, but soon became addicted to it. Apparently the feel of lathering-up with a brush is incredibly nice.

To make it a really special gift, I would choose a premium brush and a china box, rather than a wooden one, and also a case for it all. Dh is very attached to his razor, so I didn't try to change that, but to complete the set you could also get a matching razor handle that takes conventional blades.
