Anyone else tackling the potty training this half term?

Dd was 3 in nov and I've tried a few times and she's just not been ready. So I've been waiting for this half term to crack it because she's at nursery now and from being a baby she has always suffered with nappy rash and the nursery aren't allowed to put any cream on her, I've told her that if she gets rid of the nappies she won't have a sore bum anymore and she seems to be for it.

So yesterday I decided to just go for it, put knickers on her and she did lots of wee's on the potty and toilet, she had a couple of accidents put by late afternoon was running to the potty herself claiming she needed a wee 🎉 I put a nappy on her when she went to bed last night and it wasn't as wet as it usually is, so this morning we whipped it off and she's done two wee's on the potty!

Well done that’s great progress!

Why on earth won’t they put cream on her?! All the nurseries we’ve been would! How odd

That's a great start well done! I'm not there yet, I'll probably wait until easter but I'm taking dd to choose some pretty knickers today. Shes only 20m so no rush but I want to be ready, her big sister was in Knicks with mo accidents at 22m so fingers crossed

Good luck to you, I hope the rest of half term goes as smoothly

I was planning on starting, ds is 4 but has autism so it's been a l lot harder. Me and his nursery have been preparing him for a few weeks ready to start this half term, but he's now got a sickness bug so it's all gone out the window!

I know it's silly isn't it, they said it's against policy Sad

She's done really great today, only had a couple of accidents and has taken herself off to the potty to do wee's, no poo's yet though today and yesterday she didn't make it in time and poo'd herself Confused but tomorrow's another day Smile
