Help DS has been awake since midnight

DS is 2.5 and has been awake since midnight. He has shouted out a couple of times but has mostly been playing by himself.

Do I go in there and make him go to sleep by sitting next to him or do I continue to ignore him in the hope he falls asleep soon?

What do i do about the morning? If he sleeps in it'll mess up tomorrow night but then he's not had a full sleep tonight.

What time does he normally wake in the morning? Does he still have a daytime nap?

I'd be inclined to go and lie with him, just to make your own life easier.

He usually wakes at 7.30 and doesn't nap anymore.

I think I'm going to have to, just hope it doesn't become a thing

Dd used to do this. I'd leave her then follow normal routine the next day - no lie in.if it had been ages I might go in and lie her down and leave again but if not ready to sleep that sometimes caused a commotion

Well going in didn't make a difference so I left again, he fell asleep around 6 and woke.up at 7.30 as normal. No idea why that happened, it's.going to be a long time
