How to prepare DS for surgery (minor)

Ds is 4.5 and due to have surgery under GA. Should be in and out of hospital on the same day, possibly an overnight stay. May need 2 seperate ops, or they might do both together.

I know people sat children are resident, but actually ds is not very, is quite easily upset if worried. Of course I am dreading it, but am good at reassuring him.

I'm just wondering how much to tell him in advance? He's usually better if he knows what's happening but I don't want to worry him. Any tips?

Look & see if Dr Ranj has an episode, either on the surgery your son needs or something similar.
It might be worth a look at the hospital website too, dd had to have a procedure & the department had made a video. We even saw the same staff member!
