If I'm offered a job, is it okay to ask them to wait before giving my answer?

I'm supposed to hear if I've got a job tomorrow, but I have three more interviews this week. Can I ask them to wait before I accept the offer? Or will they just withdraw it?

It's been so long since I did all this last.

I'd verbally accept, you can always withdraw if you get a better offer.

Gosh, I wouldn’t tell them to wait in those circumstances.

Accept it and withdraw if necessary, as penguin says.

100% agree. Accept it and see what happens with the others. Its not 'nice' no, but companies aren't loyal to staff any more so meh.

I thought this would be the answer. It feels so wrong though!

Thanks :)

I'd just ask when they need to have your decision by, as you need to consider their offer. Most decent employers would be fine if you need a few days to decide. Gives you a negotiating position if you do get other offers too (or even if you don't). If you've already accepted, you can't go back and say 'I have x on the table from y, can you match it?'.

I've always said - May I have til xday to consider please?

Thats my other concern, the interviews I have next week are all with the council which might mean it takes ages to get the outcome.

You can't keep a prospective employer waiting for ages to accept. Either accept within a day or two, or decline. Asking them to wait for ages would be unprofessional and rude.
