Did they not examine you to tell you if your cervix was open or closed?

I hope all is ok with your pregnancy. Miscarriages is sometimes start with period like bleeding and no pain but also, some women bleed very heavily and the pregnancy proceeds without an issue.

I had 'periods' for about 6 months of my pregnancy. They were as regular as my normal periods but gradually got lighter.

I hope all is ok

This needs moving to pregnancy.

I bled from 13wks with DD1 constantly, happy healthy six year old here now.
I also didn’t know with DD3 until 5/6mths in due to having my periods until then.

They’re right if it’s going to come out it will, but also it may not so there’s no reason to feel despair, I thought A&E scan in early pregnancy unit in this case?

There must be someone who can see you, could you book a private scan ? I know it can be expensive but reassurance will be worth the money.
Bleeding in the second trimester is less usual but can happen, sporting is normal but heavier bleeding is a more serious sign than light bleeding. It could be a range of things from inflammation to problems with the placenta or cervix.
Bleeding does not usually mean a woman is going into labor or having a miscarriage but Any kind of bleeding or discharge should mean you are in contact their healthcare providers but if bleeding is heavy or painful (or both), it is a medical emergency and they should’ve dismiss you.
💐 please keep us updated xx

I had a very big red blood bleed at 14 weeks with my middle DC. Apparently my low placenta caused it but they did examine me / scan me to check baby and my cervix. I bleed pretty much every day throughout that pregnancy Even after my placenta moved

I also had similar with my first pregnancy when I was roughly 12/13 weeks which unfortunately was a loss.

Bleeding like that would usually be cause for an EPU to see you. Can you call your local one today if they're open or Monday? They may still say wait until your scan but hopefully they could see you quicker

Must add though my two Best friends and also my mum bled through about 6 months of their pregnancies quite heavily and all had healthy babies (it was me who mum bled with), it was due to a little pocket of blood that eventually went away and without complications but I do think a&e should see you xx

Thanks all. I rang early preg firday to be told theres no wahy they can get me seen til end of this week. A n e aslo said they couldnt get a scan until late tuesday. Were as my 12wk scan is 9. 30 tuesday morning. I just feel useless. Not wanting to go to the loo just incase. Every time i go and theres nothing there i get abit better but then the next time its there again. Just blood at this stage no bits. But im so confused. Weve been trying for 3yrs for this baby and now im so worried. 😓

If you end up going back or see someone before Tuesday, ask them to examine you as an open cervix means you are miscarrying and a closed one means things might be fine.

Debingirlies · 16/02/2020 11:10

@WinterCat if id of new i would have asked. Thank you.. I spose its just a waiting game now. So not fair i think they should do more at this stage. All this time i was counting down to tuesday and now im not excited at all. 😢😢

I had bleeding in my first trimester. It was frightening but now the 12 year old result is running around playing football. Try and stay calm, make sure you rest, and good luck 💕

I’ve had bleeding like this twice. In my first pregnancy it ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks, though foetus hadn’t made it past about 10 weeks, 2nd time I had a very heavy bleed when I was pregnant with twins and they were both born fine and only a little prem. it’ll be a difficult wait for you til Tuesday, but look after yourself and I wish you all the best.

mindutopia · 16/02/2020 13:17

I had heavy bleeding with both of mine - with dd it was only for a day but gushing down my legs, with ds it lasted probably a week but heavy like a period (bleeding through clothes at one point). Just one of those things sometimes. Scans showed no obvious cause and I never had it again, healthy pregnancies and easy births. They’re 2 & 7 now so obviously all fine. Hopefully it’s also nothing for you.
