What's everyone up to today?

We were going to go for a wander down near the river but it's rainy, grey, and miserable outside so think it'll be a day in after all.

I worked yesterday so will probably make sure homework's done today & do a little bit of prep for my Rainbows and Guides after half term. I have some e-learning to do for work too so might get those done.

Dd1 wanted me to stick some false nails for her and dd2 wants me to draw her a temporary tattoo so we'll do those too.

A steady, moochy, kind of day really.

We've got beef for tea, followed maybe by a golden syrup cake and custard.

What about you lot? :)

I dismantled my two wardrobes yesterday today and I'm taking a couple of carrier bags of clothes to H&M and will pick up the vouchers and save them until I've got some new wardrobes
I send me to decide where I'm going to buy my wardrobe from I really like the ones the Oakland so but for the wardrobe I won't and a chest of drawers it's going to cost me over £1,000.
Dunelm have some that look ok on line but I don't know what the quality is like.
I have been procrastinating about this for well over a year now I need to sort myself out

MinesaPinot · 16/02/2020 10:41

Raining and windy here in Kent so in today. We're getting new wardrobes next month and as we've only got weekends to have a sort out we're intending to start today. I'm planning on bagging up some stuff for H&M, stuff being stored in the loft etc. Then plenty of ironing to do and roast lamb for tea.

DuchessofManchester · 16/02/2020 10:42

I'm looking to this thread for inspiration! The weather is crap and I'll be climbing the walls if I have to stay in again today.

YewandOak · 16/02/2020 10:46

I'm off to work in about an hour. If the weather stays this horrible,I may close up early.

AlCalavicci · 16/02/2020 10:48

@MinesaPinot , having a clear out and getting money off your next purchase feels good doesn't it
Do you know where you're getting your wardrobe from yet I desperately need some inspiration

jellycatspyjamas · 16/02/2020 10:48

We’re having a lazy day at home - weather is miserable and the kids are back to school tomorrow so some screen time for them and crafts for me. Dinner is already in the slow cooker so minimal effort needed unless I decide to make a pudding.

AlCalavicci · 16/02/2020 10:50

The weather in the northwest it horrid too I'm going to have to wrap up well to make my dash to the various different shops I need to go to today

ipswichwitch · 16/02/2020 10:52

Must be the month for wardrobes - we’ve spent the last 2 weekends building wardrobes, drawers and a desk for DS1. This weekend I’ve been finishing off getting stuff back in, today will be a final tidy and sort of toys. DH is doing umpteen tip runs , and DS2 wants me to build a pillow fort.

Mixitupalot · 16/02/2020 11:06

We’ve just had our first walk in 2 weeks, the weather here has been awful. I hate hate hate being stuck in the house, walking keeps me sane & I love being out doors.

I am off work for the half term so me & the kids are planning a fun week of just doing silly things, like baking, crafts, quiz nights & more walks around a local national trust property.

Today is just chill & then make a big Sunday roast.

maddiemookins16mum · 16/02/2020 11:27

Busier Sunday than normal here, DD (15) is helping run our Church Half Term Holiday Club (8am - 6pm every day this week).
We’re off to Asda to buy breakfast for 25 under 12’s for the week.
Then she’s finishing off her prep for the craft activities for her group (7-9s).
Lunch is cottage pie and veg.
After lunch we’re off to take the provisions to the church and set up for breakfast tomorrow then we’re making 25 plus Brownies (Mondays morning snack with fruit) and 25 plus Flapjacks (for Tuesday). We’re also doing a hot evening meal for all the kids each night, Monday is Pasta bake/salad, and we’re providing two of them for tomorrow night so will make that too.

Oldraver · 16/02/2020 11:28

OH and DS are off to Arsenal though DS1 has had to cancel so I'm taking his train ticket and going to a Museum

maddiemookins16mum · 16/02/2020 11:30

Oh and it’s all paid for by Church donations from members as so many in our community find the extra costs for Childcare tough each school holiday. It’s fully booked as soon as we release the booking form the first week of January.

confusedandemployed · 16/02/2020 11:30

Just been to gym and DD is in church with xDH. Later on she and I are off shopping, then sushi for lunch. Weighing up whether it's safe to get the train into town.

dementedma · 16/02/2020 11:34

Still in bed and not planning on moving anytime soon. No plans beyond that.

BethanyGilbert · 16/02/2020 11:56

Done the food shop. Now having lunch. We have to start early with DD we she is such a slow eater and I want to go out at one!
Then we are meeting with my mum and sister and going to cafe we always used to visit when my nanny was still with us.
Our favourite chicken salad and rice for dinner then early night for DD (though might try her new bath bomb) and ironing with call the midwife and a glass of something.
Finally packing our picnic for the zoo tomorrow.

UsernameTaken76 · 16/02/2020 12:49

Lazy day here fire is is lit. I’m reading a book for work and DH is playing on his switch with my kitchen rules in the background. DDog is snoozing and sulking we won’t let him run freely in a very muddy garden. Have prepped Pinch of Nom’s Enchilada Lasagna and Spiced Rice Pudding for dinner tonight. With dancing on ice and call the midwife.

MummySharn · 16/02/2020 12:50

We had planned to go to the park; but we will be having a movie day instead and baking cakes. Weather is awful here

TabbyMctatTheBuskersCat · 16/02/2020 12:53

I too have some prep to do for Rainbows so i might get that done, or i might not. I'm on half term so i might spend all day in my PJs watching crap on netflix.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/02/2020 13:06

It's raining like mad here and we are on a red warning for wind right now. So I stayed in and did some research for:
a new dishwasher
a new bed for my ancient MIL (her matress and bedstead are more than 30 years old) plus a shop in her town to get it from
an excercise plan for DS in lieu of school PE

DD just went off to her study group
DS is reading and DH is writing a book or paper or sth as per usual.

MillieMoodle · 16/02/2020 13:11

Lazy day so far here and the weather is awful. DH had football training earlier but DC and I just mooched around at home. I did a few jobs and a bit of tidying. I am taking DS1 to a basketball tournament shortly and then we need to pop into Tesco to get something for dinner. Quite glad to have a quiet day as have got a really busy couple of days at work coming up.

LER83 · 16/02/2020 13:23

Dc3 decided to start the day by vomiting into my hair and all down my back so have spent most of the morning trying to contain his sick and keep up with the washing. Dh is finishing painting dc2's room which he started yesterday, so once that's dry I will have the fun job of putting all her furniture and stuff back in! DC 1&2 are entertaining themselves by lounging over the sofa watching tv and moaning they have nothing to do! 🙄

Chottie · 16/02/2020 13:29

Yoga first thing and then home and I have been making marmalade and trying a new shortbread with mincemeat recipe.

Now I am going to relax and watch TV and do some crochet.

IpanemaGallina · 16/02/2020 13:36

Painting the woodwork in the hallway since 8am. Just finished and had planned on taking ddog out for some fresh air but she hates the rain!

So I’m drinking tea and eating a cream egg instead.

MinesaPinot · 17/02/2020 13:45

AlCalavicci we're using a local company who do slide door wardrobes. They did ours in our main bedroom last year and we were very pleased so they're coming back to do the ones in our second bedroom.

We were going to look at IKEA, but our local guy came up with a good price so we didn't bother looking any further.
