What’s everyone doing this half term?

My daughter had hers last week and my son has his this week. I took my daughter to London for a sushi meal and look around a possible new school, cinema another day and boty kids out to lunch another. So nothing special.
Both are off abroad (one school trip, one with girlfriend) in May half term so already tapped out for holidays.

lilgreen · 16/02/2020 13:43

I’m a TA so off this week. Going to visit DD1 at uni tomorrow for a few days- not seen her for a month so that will be nice. Rest of the week will be catching up with household jobs.

lilgreen · 16/02/2020 13:44

DD2 is revising for GCSEs so I’ll be around to offer support and refreshments Wink

glenhaggis · 16/02/2020 13:48

Chilling at home mostly, going to the cinema tomorrow I expect if we can get past floods.

BillywigSting · 16/02/2020 13:51

Keeping it fairly low key this half term.

Lazy day today playing card/board games and getting a bit of housework done so we're on top of it for next week.

Tomorrow we'll probably have an easy morning and maybe mooch around the shops and have a bit of lunch in the coffee shop. Ds wants to make rice crispie cakes so might get the bits for that and make those.

Might go swimming Tuesday

Ds has a little vegetable patch in the garden so we'll probably have a go at that Wednesday

Thursday there's a craft thing on in the library we'll probably go

Museum Friday

I'm in work Saturday and Sunday and dp will have ds.

AngelicCurls · 16/02/2020 13:52

Well thanks to a poster above for the idea, we’ll be going to the superhero thing at the royal armouries tomorrow. Tues might take them swimming then wed/thurs they are with their dad. Friday DD has a pony club thing and then not sure for next weekend

FireUnderpants · 16/02/2020 13:57

Lazy days Monday and Tuesday, as I'm working from home. DC are old enough to be content with a lay in followed by xbox or baking.

Circus on Wednesday
Cinema Thursday
And climbing Friday.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 17/02/2020 10:42

Hope you all enjoy, we are not doing too much this half term

Today DH is attempting to sort the fence that has broken in the winds.
Losing battle I think.

Other than that, not a great deal, helping DD move some furniture on Wednesday.
Trip to the woods Thursday if the weather is ok.

PhantomErik · 17/02/2020 11:47

I've had a really nasty cold that my DD is possibly coming down with so not much planned. DD11, DS9 & DS7.

Got some shopping, made some cakes & had long baths yesterday.

Today the dc have watched Jurassic Park, there's a big tub of lego on the floor in the front room & have just put Despicable Me on. They're all still in pjs & lunch will picnic style.

Hoping to see DM on Wednesday.

Might take the DC swimming with DH one afternoon if the colds have gone by then.

Also might go to the cinema next weekend.

Need to buy DS7 some school shoes at some point.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 17/02/2020 19:02

Phantom hope your cold goes

Flying to Alicante 😊

YogaLite · 17/02/2020 19:48

Do check your local theatres, they often put on something suitable for children in school breaks.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 18/02/2020 10:42

Will check local theatres thanks

I am really enjoying doing very little. Mine are 6, 4 and 2, and It is such a joy to have them all to myself.
TV, snacks, housework, crafts, puzzles, lego, library, local museum, lunch out, swimming before bed when dad gets home from work, lazy mornings. So good!

TheHagOnTheHill · 18/02/2020 12:00

We wee unable to get out of our town at the weekend due to the floods.Managed to get away on Monday but watching the devestation as the water fall.
It will take a while while the town recovers and roads repaired and people can return home. Also feeing for the family that lost their mum, don't know if she's even been found yet.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 18/02/2020 16:51

We’re enjoying a homey week. Dentist, haircuts, lunches out, friends over.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 19/02/2020 09:23

Staying at home can be good too

Booked two half days to run playdates for DS 2. Weather rubbish unfortunately as was hoping they could play tennis. Cousin coming for sleepover Friday. DS 1 is going abroad with his orchestra tomorrow.

Coffee with a friend Sat and neighbours for dinner Saturday evening.

Busy planning holidays for 2020!

Mitsouko67 · 19/02/2020 10:42

Very sad about floods and loss of life.

iamabox · 19/02/2020 10:53

Monday was soft play, yesterday cinema and arcades. Today is a pizza making class, tomorrow (weather permitting) the local fair. No plans for Friday as DS has a dentist appointment. But probably the park and museum after.

cricketmum84 · 19/02/2020 11:24

Worked all day Monday, yesterday we just chilled out, watched a film, me and DDs cleaned downstairs, cleaned windows, vacuumed etc.
Today youngest DD is dragging me out clothes shopping to search for Billie Eilish merch!
Tomorrow is a trip to the donkey sanctuary to visit her adopted donkey
Friday she is at a friends so we have the house to ourselves!

Eldest DD almost 16 so just doing her own thing.

HebeMumsnet · 19/02/2020 13:09

Kids are with grandparents on days I'm working and around that it's been very tedious half termy stuff so far. New shoes x 2, hair cut x 2, dentist x1, GP appt for eczema cream x1, shots done for cattery x 1(cat). Might go and get a smear test and my legs waxed just for a little 'me-time',

Geekster1963 · 19/02/2020 13:22

Not much!

We went to see the in laws for a bit on Monday afternoon
Yesterday we went into town on the bus as DD needed some new clothes.
Today we went to see our elderly neighbour and are going to a Harry Potter event at the library this afternoon.
Nothing planned tomorrow.
Friday getting my stitches out at the GP.

Probably parkrun on Saturday that’s it.
