It can only get better can't it?

On Monday DD1 started to come down with a fever. By Monday night DD2 had it too. On Tuesday night I started to feel rubbish. DD1 picked up a bit on Wednesday night, although they were both still waking multiple times a night needing medicine to bring their temps down. On Thursday I felt worse, couldn't get my temp down, GP sent me to A&E where I waited for 4 hours to be told it's flu. On Friday we all felt a little bit better, until the night when DD1 woke up crying and then threw up multiple times. Today DD2 is worse again. High fever, hasn't eaten much, just wants to sleep and be cuddled. DD1 has been fine all day. I gave her a cuddle in my bed before putting her in her bed, where she projectile vomited over my freshly made bed and some clean laundry waiting to be put away.

I still feel crap. DD1 is coughing continuously. DD2 seems settled for now. And to top it all off, I'm pregnant so can't even go and have a glass on wine. Not that I'd be able to taste it anyway.

Stupid bastard germs!

Oh yes, and my hands are cracked and bleeding from where I've washed them 14 thousand times a day.

Well done for getting through the week so far hope you all feel better really soon. Sounds really rough.

As an aside, I am slightly surprised, especially at the present time, that a GP sent you to sit in A and E for 4 hours with a child with a fever and a cough!
Seems to suggest our infection control procedures are non existent/ poor at the best.

allthesharks · 15/02/2020 21:25

Thanks all. A decent night sleep would do wonders!

@BrokenBrit A&E was for me after I saw the GP as my temperature wasn't going below 39 with paracetamol and, as I'm pregnant they wanted to rule out an infection that would be affecting the baby.
