Last time you waggled

mintybonbons · 15/02/2020 20:11

I'm finishing my job next week and although I will miss the people, I'm glad to leave. I'm already anticipating a few air punches and a waggle dance.

Hit me with the last time you waggled...

How do you waggle? Never heard of it.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 15/02/2020 20:27

You what? Grin

Elouera · 15/02/2020 20:31

What on earth is a waggle??? Seems I'm not the only only one that isnt familiar with this saying Confused. Which country or county are you in?

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 15/02/2020 20:32

I waggle whenever I get a move right in Tai Chi!

mintybonbons · 15/02/2020 20:55

The waggle dance is a honey bee dance, which has been extensively studied as a form of communication, when a bee has found a source of honey and comes back to tell his fellow bees. The precise movements signal the whereabouts of the honey. A teacher friend told me this and how they got all the kids doing it on a school trip.

@mintybonbons- As I'm neither a honey bee, nor a child at the school your friend works at, I assume this is a reason I had no idea what you were referring to Confused. Enjoy your waggle dance though!

LuvMyBoyz · 15/02/2020 21:02

I waggled tonight watching Greatest Dancer. I don’t know why we are so invested in it but seeing as it makes us happy I waggled along

Witchend · 15/02/2020 21:07

I find Google Maps works better than a dance.

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 15/02/2020 22:04

I'm surprised so few people knew what you meant, OP! I'm a waggler. I think many people are, they just don't know it!

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 15/02/2020 22:04

There's a beer called waggle dance, too.

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 15/02/2020 22:04

It's a little triumphant dance.

user32564567 · 15/02/2020 22:08

Never heard of it.

KatyaZamolodchikova · 15/02/2020 22:11

Oooh I waggled on Friday morning as I got some good news from work. It turned out to be too early though and I regretted it when it didn’t turn out quite as well as I thought while waggling.

dementedma · 15/02/2020 22:13

Never heard of it

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 15/02/2020 22:23

Is it like the Birdie Song? Confused

mintybonbons · 16/02/2020 01:50

@picklesdragonisawelshdragon I never knew. Just had a look - it's in Tesco, Morrison's, Asda.

I was just trying to describe that feeling when you want to burst with joy and do a little dance.

glenhaggis · 16/02/2020 03:59

I had some of the beer last night, does that count ?

Bluesheep8 · 16/02/2020 09:26

What? Never heard of it. Can you describe it?

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 16/02/2020 11:50

Try this... media.giphy.com/media/1iZRWH6sRyIkmSFG/giphy.gif

Does that work? It's more in the hips, but I haven't found a vid of that...

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 16/02/2020 11:51

Or this...

picklesdragonisawelshdragon · 16/02/2020 11:52

A whole body wave/ shimmy of not great grace or beauty, but expressing that 'yay' feeling.

You do it! You must do it? Just don't call it the waggle dance?

SuperMeerkat · 16/02/2020 12:28

So jealous @mintybonbons I hate my job and am job hunting. Good for you!!

TheNestedIf · 16/02/2020 13:07

Ha ha! DP and I sometimes communicate in Bee. This thread has given me joy to find someone else who is fluent in Bee.

Mind you, I say "fluent". It's not uncommon for him to be looking in the top left of the fridge for the milk when I have clearly wiggled it's in the bottom (tee hee) right.

mintybonbons · 16/02/2020 17:02

@TheNestedIf That made me laugh so much!

My dance goes like this - plant feet on ground, make hands into fists, and wiggle.

If I was to break it down it's bending one knee while shifting weight to the other leg very fast, and moving shoulders left to right.

There is a bit in this video at 1 minute: m.youtube.com/watch?v=_lqNlE3ywQs

@picklesdragonisawelshdragon Love those. I found this one too:
