Weird things you’ve found on Rightmove...

Currently pondering a move so have been looking at local houses.

Today I have seen:

  • the weirdest covered garden
  • a bedroom with a confederate flag on the wall (not what you expect to see in Dorset)

Also saw a Barbecue hut but that was awesome rather than weird

I once saw a photo of a bathroom where there was an armchair facing the toilet - not a commode, like a lazy boy type recliner. Opposite the toilet.

Tell me yours, pics if you have them!

My dream home is this....I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: www.rightmove.co.uk/s6p/82852145

Really123456 · 16/02/2020 21:37

Like the owner of the above would take the Stansted Express 😂😂😂

Knitwit99 · 16/02/2020 21:38

From the link @Sofacat posted, I think this is absolute genius. Who needs to see their feet in the bath anyway, it's still totally useable. The end doubles as a bedside table and you get extra space in your bedroom. Win win!

@really that just became my dream house! That's a whole other level of house Shock

Crazy8 · 17/02/2020 00:20

Really I just had a housgasm!!!

BunsyGirl · 17/02/2020 00:25

Really...I live close to that location and have lusted after that house many times when I have forgotten to put a maximum amount into my search criteria Smile

Apileofballyhoo · 17/02/2020 00:38

Loving the pandas.

Bloodybridget · 17/02/2020 01:53

@85notout my eyes! And the ea's remark in the description that the ground floor room could be turned into an additional bedroom - what, in case 24 wasn't enough? "Perfect business opportunity", ahem.

enjoyingscience · 17/02/2020 10:41

@DisgraceToTheYChromosome I think it’s been on longer than it looks too. They would struggle to shift it at that price even without the pandas, so I think someone either doesn’t really want to sell, or isn’t listening to their EA.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 17/02/2020 11:09

@Really123456. I've been past that house!

And if you had that house, would you give a fuck about the Stansted Express? Chauffeur or you are doing it wrong.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 17/02/2020 19:15

@enjoyingscience: I'll ask around the village, they're very generous with gossip. The gas fitter told me some startling things about our vendors.

SinkGirl · 17/02/2020 19:23

I quite fancy a covered garden right now, the weather is so shit. That roof looks like it might blow away this weekend though

Indeed. I would love a covered garden but I don’t trust that cover! And where are those stairs going...?

@Knitwit99 I know people say this all the time but I literally just cried laughing at that photo. In fairness I have had about 3 hours sleep in 3 days and had a very rough day but that’s exactly what I needed!

When I posted this no one responded at first and I forgot all about it, I am so happy lots of you have shared.

Keep them coming!

And yes, the one with the plug sockets is maybe the epitome of weird Rightmove finds.. except maybe that American house with the Elvis cafe (?) and much other weirdness.

Picture 5 of the Brighton property 85notout linked - that’s a photoshop I’m sure.

What a hilarious thread! Laughing out loud.
I want the panda pad ha ha! 🐼

Cherrysoup · 17/02/2020 20:26

My dh (police) says a common theme in convicted paedophile’s houses is tigers, stuffed toys or pictures. I really like tigers, I’d definitely buy one for dc. Or at least, I would have done before him telling me that.

WTF is under the bedding?
Check out the picture on the near wall.

Really123456 · 17/02/2020 20:27

You'd think with expensive houses there'd be decent taste!!!! 😂😂😂

Oliversmumsarmy · 17/02/2020 20:52

Pre Rightmove I did view a house
It was completely immaculate not a speck of dust anywhere.

On the outside it looked like a normal 4 bed detached on a 1930s estate

Inside it looked like the contents of a toy museum, a museum of fashion, complete with mannequins and another museum of antiquities had been placed carefully to fill every wall, ceiling and room.

I knocked on the door when I arrived and the previous viewer opened the door

Come in you have got to see this.

Tbh all the stuff distracted from what you were buying

www.rightmove.co.uk/news/articles/property-news/funny-property-stories/

I've just found some moving in stories on their website, they a quite funny

SallyOMalley · 17/02/2020 21:52

Remember the house with built-in softplay?

CustardySergeant · 17/02/2020 22:22

How about this one near me? www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-84947987.html

Eccentric to say the least and it went on Rightmove last April Fool's Day! Grin

I can't say I'm surprised that no one's coughed up £1.25 million for it.

glenhaggis · 17/02/2020 22:43

That one in Lymm is vile but i love the soft play one.

The Frodsham one is good with those lovely windows but I'd need most of the house to be gutted and I'd seal off the 'caves' as they are just freaky - those huge stone walls.

Cherrysoup · 17/02/2020 23:16

@CustardySergeant that’s actually a gorgeous house if you strip out all the weird Carnival shit.
