What's the view from your bedroom window?

So I'm just sitting here in bed noodling about on MN and looking out at the trees on the village green, waiting for them to get leaves so I can't see the roofs of the houses opposite and just thought - does everyone love the view from their bedroom window?

My bedroom is at the back of the house, so overlooks my back garden, and my neighbours’ who’s garden backs onto mine.
DS has the nicest view from the box room! It looks out over the green space out front which often has lots of local wildlife to watch, and sometimes the odd horse and rider trots past. Just beyond the green is lots of farmland, so DS loves to stand there and watch the tractors

I have a beautiful view of the mountains, every day it looks different depending on the weather

Houses out to fields (well, marshes actually) and the sea. I absolutely love my view. I spend far too much time just standing at the window watching the weather roll over or watching the sun set over the sea.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 15/02/2020 11:15

My bedroom windows are heigh up near the ceiling. I can see the sky, sunlight and the tips of lime trees (smelling loveling when in bloom).

If I went up a ladder I could see the roofs of the houses opposite

Livebythecoast · 15/02/2020 11:18

Rooftops and beyond that on a clear day, the sea. I love living here Smile

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 15/02/2020 11:24

Other houses. Dd has a few of the garden, a house, river and the forest from her room

FrenchFancie · 15/02/2020 11:27

I have scrubland and then down a short cliff to the sea. It’s amazing.
Out the front is my neighbours house, less exciting

PlomBear · 15/02/2020 11:29

I love watching the ships - Royal Navy vessels, cargo, ferries and cruise ships.

dustibooks · 15/02/2020 11:30

Deeply jealous of some of these views!

Mine is of the semi-detached houses opposite, and in the gap between, we can see the fields beyond, and there are usually some horses, chickens and sheep dotted about.

barberousbarbara · 15/02/2020 13:02

I live halfway up a valley and the view is the tops of houses then above that farm land. I love the spring when we can the lambs and calves running around the fields.

Zaphodsotherhead · 15/02/2020 13:14

I do envy those with views of the sea. Although I'm not sorry to have left my house with the stupendous views as the back of my house was the first stop for wind and weather for about twenty miles! Made the house draughty and leaky, but oh I did love to sit and watch the sun set behind the hills.

Now I am wind and weathertight but with a curtailed view. Can still see the moors and hills though, I just have to crane my neck (or stand in the garden).

Rolling fields with sheep and a view of the Downs in the distance. It's lovely.

Nononononono33 · 15/02/2020 13:22

I’ve got a (small) mountain, a school to the left and their playing fields, a few houses but they are a bit further down the hill, so they’re not really overlooking us at all, and a castle.

user1471462428 · 15/02/2020 13:30

York Minster. It’s floodlight at night so beautiful day and night.

goingoverground · 15/02/2020 13:32

On one side, daffodils and geraniums that have bloomed all winter on my balcony, rooftops below me, treetops in the mid distance and the chimneys of Battersea Power Station rising above them in the far distance.

On the other side, there are window boxes full of daffodils and a stone balustrade and London plane trees in the garden. In the summer, the view is totally green but now I can see a flock of parakeets in the branches, the Georgian houses opposite and the Post Office Tower behind them.

Unfortunately, there are also lots of cars and people on the street below but at least I can hear the birdsong screeching parakeets at this height.

rottiemum88 · 15/02/2020 13:35

We're fairly fortunate to live at the top of our street where the houses are built in a "U" shape, so unlike our neighbours who all look out onto each other, our house looks straight down the (not very long) street and out onto open fields. Although we're actually very close to a city centre, the area immediately around us has a very rural feel to it, with woodland a 5 minute walk away too. We've been here two years now and although a new build was never my dream upto moving, I've ended up loving it ☺️

purrswhileheeats · 15/02/2020 13:40

The Mediterranean. Not always pretty, over the winter months it can be frightening. I always dreamed of living in a place where I open my curtains and see a sparkling blue sea; the novelty never wears off.

Every day, the sea takes on a different colour and appearance no matter what time of year it is and the weather conditions - truly amazing.

From the bedroom Roman ruins [possibly outs self] Grin

I live in a city but at the top of a hill and set high above the road. We are also opposite a junction so the trees that line the road stop opposite ours and we are lucky enough to have fantastic views reaching all over the city in all directions . We can see hills in the distance and for many miles. So despite living in a much maligned city I feel pretty lucky really .

Raindropsandspaceships · 15/02/2020 13:43

Pretty garden and trees

Ohyesiam · 15/02/2020 13:47

The sea!
But today it’s a bit...shrouded.

HorseOutside · 15/02/2020 13:50

My bedroom window looks out over a lake, with hills beyond. It's stunning and I'm very lucky to live where I do.

isseywith4vampirecats · 15/02/2020 13:53

a street that is straight with identical semi detached 1930s houses going all the way up both sides we are about half way

Rubychard · 15/02/2020 13:55

Docklands and the river (major one). I love it.
