3rd Generation iPod - Can it do ANYTHING?

My daughter has been given a 3rd Generation iPod. I can connect it to the WiFi and my iTunes account but it doesn’t appear to be able to support any apps. Was hoping for Spotify.

Are there any music apps basic enough that she can use?

I can get on the internet and YouTube but it won’t play the videos. Presumably the YouTube platform is too advanced for the iPod?

Honestly, even if she could just play a basic drawing game on the iPod she’d be happy!

My iPod can do all of that. It's a 6th generation.

The 3rd generation is about 10 years old. Apple are quite well known for unsupporting old devices. I don't have any advice apart from probably forget about trying to use the iPod. Sorry.

I have an iPod Touch (think it's 4th generation) that hardly works anymore. It can't support the latest iOS updates so a lot of the apps won't work anymore unfortunately. I use it as an alarm clock and that's about it!

Oh well..... it will just be a pretend phone I think!!
