Just wondered if anyone else has seen him? He said he was wearing a joker-esque suit but with a proper Pennywise mask. And an umbrella. He was walking along going “hah hah!” in peoples faces and then when he got off the tube he shouted “bye bye” at everyone.

I would have freaked the fuck out tbh. And rightly so it’s just not on. Joker kills people on a train... Yes, he might of loved the film, or may have been joking, but I think it was more his intention to frighten people. we don’t know who was behind that mask (slightly hysterical - do not like this sort of thing at all)

PlumsGalore · 15/02/2020 08:52

I’ve seen beggars on he tube and I only come into London as a tourist twice a year.

I wouldn’t like a scary clown though, I think it’s not really ok.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 15/02/2020 08:57

@Wolfff . Thank You .

Rarely get a tube so had not come across this .

Skyejuly · 15/02/2020 08:59

I would be scared too. I absolutely hate masks.

Obviouspretzel · 15/02/2020 09:01

It's just a man in a costume though. If you did punch them, you're the one with the issue.

EssentialHummus · 15/02/2020 09:02

Did the clown say that he was struggling with his life generally?

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 15/02/2020 09:04

I can't cope with people in masks, I think I would have wet myself in fright.

BlueJava · 15/02/2020 09:06

I didn't see him on the Jubilee Line yesterday. I did however see a guy who looked like he was as high as a kite asking for money. He seemed to think he was in America and was wishing people happy Christmas!

GlitchStitch · 15/02/2020 09:07

It's just a man in a costume though.

A man in a costume shouting in people's faces to frighten them. People who may have heart conditions, anxiety, trauma. A punch would be a good warning to pack in being a dick, 'performance art' or not.

Rollergirl11 · 15/02/2020 09:07

DH said people were freaked out and moving away from him. It was 7.30 am! I guess he was a street performer but bit weird to stay in character on his way to work. He was cackling and turning in circles round his umbrella and getting in peoples faces.

lifelong Londoner

sounds like a normal day to me

surprised people were moving away, most of us would just eyeroll or tell him to shut up.

KatherineJaneway · 15/02/2020 09:09

I saw a tissue begger on the overground last month on my way to Bromley South. I don't see them on the tube anymore but I guess I travel mainly at peak times so there are rarely free seats to leave the tissues on.

AutumnRose1 · 15/02/2020 09:10

ah sorry, just saw he was getting in people's faces

that's odd, because he should realise he's at risk doing that.

Now I'm thinking, not your average London clown....

cortex10 · 15/02/2020 09:14

Often see beggars (and others making long political speeches) working their way through the Thameslink trains.

Rollergirl11 · 15/02/2020 09:16

DH said he walked the length of the platform at Waterloo to the end and made a show of peering in to the tunnel to look for the train. Then when he got off he was banging on the windows and shouting “bye bye!”.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/02/2020 09:17

What’s a tissue beggar?.

1forsorrow · 15/02/2020 09:18

I wonder if beggars are finding thin pickings now so many of us don't carry much cash. I have my trusty debit card and rarely have any money on me other than my emergency £10 tucked in behind my mobile.

AutumnRose1 · 15/02/2020 09:19

tissue beggars give out packs of tissues with notes saying "if you take tissues from me, please give me some cash".

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/02/2020 09:22

Blimey. What is the going rate for a pack of tissues?.

I’m in the east mids, you don’t get any of this. I saw a beggar yesterday outside Lidl, they hit the supermarkets up but only on Fridays for the increased foot fall.

jcurve · 15/02/2020 09:23

We get “homeless” beggars on the Northern Line out of the City quite often.

This week’s commute reached a new low for me - there was a fresh human turd on the floor of my Piccadilly line carriage on Wednesday morning Confused

AutumnRose1 · 15/02/2020 09:23

Fluffy, it's just whatever spare change you might have to give them.

AutumnRose1 · 15/02/2020 09:24

jcurve cross post

OMD, I've seen that at the bus stop but not actually on the Tube. Hopefully everyone didn't go into that carriage...

god I hate London.

CamdenTownie · 15/02/2020 09:25

I travel on the tube every day and see various beggars, the tissue beggars are still rife, the distraction pick pockets, show you a map of the underground and talk to you in a foreign language, and the guys claiming to be ex armed forces, mostly see them
On the way home as I think my 6 am start is too early for them!

Littlebelina · 15/02/2020 09:26

@NeverguessWho he was doing an imitation of pennywise from the latest adaptation of IT. He pretty much nailed it
