As I’m a bloody lovely person, I have made a 1970’s style trifle for DH as a Valentine’s gift - he has been dropping hints for ages. We don’t do Valentine’s Day as we have been together far too long, but thought I would be a wonderful person and make the effort. I also can’t eat the bugger as I’ve been Vegan for decades. Anyway, here is the result of my hard work. DS is coming over tomorrow so he can eat some too as there is enough for a small regiment.

I am rather please with the overall look. 😇

Please say there aren't any pieces of fruit in it. My mum made the most delicious trifle - zero lumps of fruit.

Looks lovely. I'd pick off the almonds (horrible things) but eat the rest with a ladle.

Ooo ok, ill forgive you for those - years ago I had trifle at a friend's and of course expected it to be like mums but there must have been a tin of that mixed fruit in it - hard bits, not pleasant. Fresh raspberries I could manage
