Complete non-issue but just throwing it out to the floor to see how other people think!

I work in an office and am often here late in the evening getting stuff finished when it’s nice and quiet (plus, I tend to start later in the mornings).

At Christmas, I was given a lovely box of expensive chocolates that I put in to a drawer and subsequently forgot about. I discovered them today.

Do I bring them home and share them with my husband, or do I keep them here and just dip in secretly from time to time when I’m in the office on my own?

What would you do?

Office! Keep them for when you need a pick me up.

mynameiscalypso · 14/02/2020 18:09

Definitely keep them in the office. Although I'm appalled and impressed in equal measure that you were able to forget about them for 6 weeks!

dappledsunshine · 14/02/2020 18:11

100% keep them at work, you deserve it after a long hard day 😂

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 14/02/2020 18:19

Eat the chocolate and then seek medical help for your memory problems. Grin

I am not sure you are allowed on MN ! You forgot chocolate? How does that happen?

Anyway back to your point , of course you keep them stashed at work why should DH get to share your Xmas gift

In my husband’s defense, he is very lovely and would politely take one or two of the horrible dark chocolates if I offered him some and would definitely not touch the salted caramel or the butter praline. He’s received chocolates in work before and brought them home for me and removed the nasty dark ones

I’m also quite impressed that I managed to forget about them! I’m a complete greedy guts and love chocolates so don’t know how these slipped my mind.

Though I am a fan of “hiding” things in my desk drawers and finding them weeks later- some sweets or a tenner here and there. Especially nice to do before going on holiday and finding them on your second or third day back when you’re feeling a bit miserable.

Anyway, I opened the chocolates in work tonight and ate far too many before leaving for the evening. They were lovely. I’ll bring the dark ones home for DH at some stage. I’m a great wife.

You and DH sound like a perfect match , he is a keeper .
I would eat all your nasty dark ones for you too and not touch your salted caramel or praline however if you have any fudge / toffee ones I would growl possessively over them like them too

AlCalavicci · 15/02/2020 10:34

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/02/2020 18:41

You can't decide what to do with a box of chocolates?

No, I couldn’t entirely decide on the location of the obvious activity.

I’m home now watching tv on my couch and pining for the chocolates in my desk in work.
