Best carpet cleaner

Probably the most boring thread in the history of threads, but which is the best carpet shampooing machine? I'm looking at the Vax Platinum but is it worth the £250?

Ok, sounds good thanks. I've got the same issues with two grubby dogs, and quite a grubby husband who thinks his rigger boots are carpet slippers 😢

yes the vax platinum one is worth the money not just for cleaning carpets but if someone spills a lot of water (remembers grandson flooding bathroom out into bedroom carpet) it comes in handy as a wet vac just for pulling a lot of water out of carpets, I don't use the official cleaning fluid I put a small amount (half a capful) of nice smelling laundry liquid in my top tank so when im done the house smells nice
