How do you work out your budget for a house?

Has anybody got a recommendation for a mortgage calculator thing? I know what the equity is in our house and how much we’d like to spend on mortgage a month - how do I turn that into knowing how much we can spend on a new house? TIA

Google is your friend here. I believe money supermarket have one, all the major mortgage providers have them too. So if you’re with Halifax, they will have one on their website for you to use. I’ve used it in the past.

Barclays have an agreement in principle calculator, I have used it a dozen times!
