Anyone excited for Spring?

Soen · 12/02/2020 22:20

It has probably done to death but I csnt wait for spring. I'm usually an autumn lover, but winter drags and for me this winter is particularly taking its toll, thanks to the recent storms.

Anyone else excited for warmer weather, daffodils, blossom, lighter evenings and basically feeling a ton more energetic. It cannot come.quick enough for me, I am fed up with grey skies.

Yes me! The slightly lighter nights are really uplifting!

Ginfordinner · 12/02/2020 22:36

Me.
I can't wait.
Every summer MN is full of summer haters who extol the virtues of bright, crisp winter days.

Oh wait a minute, we haven't had many of those. I notice there has been a dearth of "I love winter" posts this winter. I wonder why Wink

Aching for it. Winter really is the cruelest season for me.

Devonishome1 · 12/02/2020 23:04

I love winter

monkeytennis97 · 12/02/2020 23:08

Me! I check the sunrise and sunset calendar every day to see how the days are getting longer, makes me feel awake again!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 12/02/2020 23:08

I usually live the winter. A nice crisp sunny morning is my kind of morning, this has not been a good winter, I'm starting to get really down and can't wait for the better weather to come, but then I live in Scotland so there's never much of that. I just want the snow, hailstones and wind (that's ripped down my fencing) to fuck off now.

Me! I was only thinking earlier this evening that’s it’s wonderful that the nights are drawing out. Some daffodils near us are already out and I’m waiting for ours to follow suit!

SleightOfMind · 12/02/2020 23:34

Urgh! Daffodils.
Lego flowers.

I do quite like the subtle shifts at the start of a new season though. Lovely to see the new blossom, buds, primroses and crocuses etc.

Also, the birds suddenly started warbling their tiny hearts out last thurs (SW London).
That must mean spring is imminent?

Bezalelle · 13/02/2020 04:59

I can't wait!

It was still light when I left for the gym yesterday at 5. A good sign that spring is on its way.

Sorethroatishoos · 13/02/2020 05:01

I love spring. I’m so done with winter now

HollyBollyBooBoo · 13/02/2020 05:49

Me! Totally done with the rain and our wet, dirty dog at the end of each walk.

Deelish75 · 13/02/2020 06:08

I’m normally an early autumn person, but looking forward to spring now (especially hearing the wind and rain this morning) looking forward to seeing the trees budding as we walk through the park to school, the council planted lots of daffodil bulbs in our park back in November so hopefully look lovely when they start shooting. Across the road from our house are cherry blossom trees which are gorgeous when they flower. Also looking forward to dumping the hats, scarves and gloves and wearing lighter jackets. Yep I’m done with winter now.

Ginfordinner · 13/02/2020 06:11

Even this one Devonish?

BethanyGilbert · 13/02/2020 06:18

I love spring and summer. Bored of the cozy blanket brigade! Waking up to rain and getting ready for work in the dark is miserable.

Ginfordinner · 13/02/2020 07:10

I must admit I have never understood the appeal of wearing thick, heavy clothes or needing to wear several layers, then socks and boots, scarves, gloves and hats. I prefer summer clothes - just underwear, a dress and some sandals and I'm ready

Soen · 13/02/2020 10:15

Oh god, I am actually longing for summer. Leaving for work.early morning in the sunshine and coming home to more sunshine. Time off with my kids, long days at the beach, the smell of suncream, barbeque's, fresh cut grass. Argh I want winter over and done with asap, its another grey day in Lancaster

I am with you op. Patio doors open and the dogs asleep on the lawn. Leaving the house without having to dress up like an Eskimo. No mud. Blossom. Hanging the washing outside. Bliss.

TreacherousPissFlap · 13/02/2020 11:55

I love all the seasons usually but the constant rain and mud has somewhat ruined it for me this year. We've got three dogs and they've been woefully neglected as they only get a decent walk now when I've got time to hose them off and strip the house down afterwards. Otherwise it's a quick on-lead trot through the village Confused

bobstersmum · 13/02/2020 15:08

I used to absolutely love winter. I don't know if I'm wearing rose tinted specs but it used to always be so crisp, frosty, snowy and lovely.
Can only remember one or two frosts this winter, we've had a bit of hail, and no snow at all. Spring can hurry up for me, and hopefully see an end to a lot of these winter bugs as well!

Emijen · 13/02/2020 15:09

Me! It’s been sunny here the last few mornings and I love it. I have so much more energy in the spring and we have lots of fun thinks planned with the little ones
