Best foreign language classes in London?

Nifflernancy · 12/02/2020 15:18

Does anyone have any recommendations for weekly foreign language classes in London? I am looking to learn Spanish as a beginner.

And on the off chance, any week long intensive ones which I could do last week of Feb?!

Thank you!

londres.cervantes.es/en/courses_spanish/spanish_courses.htm

www.kcl.ac.uk/modern-language-centre

might be worth looking at as a starting point.

There is also an Open University course on Futurelearn.

Thank you! Will look.

Any good online/app courses? Free or or with fee...

I went to the Instituto Cervantes (as mentioned, not too far from Victoria if I remember rightly) as a beginner, before moving to Spain. Couldn't fault it, it gave me a really good start.
Re the week long intensive one, I carried on studying it when in Spain and loads of people would come over for a week or two for a crash course. There are probably places all over the country that offer that.

Great, thank you @doodlyfiddly

City Lit do language courses, but no experience of them, just know City Lit is well regarded.

Birkbeck. Long established for continuing/adult learning.

I recommend City Lit. I did Instituto Cervantes too, years ago, and the teachers weren't particularly friendly, unlike City Lit. Hopefully that's changed by now.

I think it's unlikely to get a one week intensive course in London. When I did it the courses were in blocks of 4 weeks, with set start dates.

Ah just seen latest messages, thanks so much! Will check those out too. I’m guessing prices will be online...but any vague idea what we’re talking?
