Take ibuprofen, gargle with warm salty water, and have a warm milk drink with honey in it. I'd also make a heat pad to place over my neck.

Oh you poor thing. Ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation, gargle warm salty water and try and keep your fluids up if you can.

Gargle Disprin. Then swallow it. Good luck!

Dont drink milk, it will worsen mucus and sinus issues. It has the effect of thickening mucus, which you don't need when you have a cold!

Hot (not boiling) lemon drinks with honey.

Lots of liquid, vitamin c and paracetamol. Take regularly to reduce throat inflammation, keep taking it.

Also, the herb thyme is extremely good for throat infections if you have any fresh to make a warm gargle with and to drink as a tea it has strong anti viral and anti inflammatory properties.

Its also a good immune system boost and packed with vitamin c.

If you only have dried, steep in boiling water, and add lemon and honey.

You could gargle with aspirin if you don’t have Differin. (And only once the ibuprofen has worn off!)

sasparilla1 · 12/02/2020 04:14

All of the above, but tomorrow get some ultra chloraseptic throat spray. It numbs the throat. Thoroughly recommend it.

Another tip for tonight, keep your throat moving by drinking something warm. I drink camomile tea or hot honey & lemon.

Gargling with then swallowing soluble aspirin always works for me, and lemon and ginger tea with honey.

I do feel your pain. I have laryngitis and tonight has been the worse so far. The cough is awful which just makes my throat worse. It’s not easy swallowing tablets either.
Lemsip cold and flu have helped. They have night time capsules in. I had barely any actual voice yesterday. Not easy with a 4 and almost 2 year old. So wish I could just have a quiet sofa day!
I really hope you feel better soon. Hot baths have helped me too.
