DS2 has number sequence homework and we are stumped on 2 of them Smile

Please don't mock me if they are really obvious. I am tired and recovering from surgery Grin

6 5 5 6 8 ?

10 14 23 39 64 ?

I've done the second one.

10 + 4 = 14
14 + 9 = 23
23 + 16 = 39
39 + 25 = 64

Now look at the second set of numbers going down: 4, 9, 16, 25. You'll find the difference between them is 5, 7, 9. The next number in that particular sequence has to be 11, as they're going up in 2s.

So to move on you'd have to do: 64 (last on the final row) + 36 (which means 25 + 11) = 100.

First one is 11 I think.
Sequence goes down 1,0,+1,+2 +3

Second is 100

Goes up by 2 squared, 3 squared, 4 squared, 5 squared so next.one 6 squared

The first one is easy.

6
5 (minus 1)
5 (add 0)
6 (add 1)
8 (add 2)

The next one should be 11 (add 3), then 15 (add 4)

So it started with minus one, then went up one each time.

Thank you both so much Thanks

Ohhh hadn't realised the second one was squaring!

Same result - just a different way of getting there
