Stopping sertraline without medical help

I've been taking sertraline for post natal anxiety for 3 months and feel tonnes better and back to myself. Has anyone stopped taking it without seeing their GP? I take 50mg so not sure whether to wean myself off or talk to my GP first.

Before seeing the a GP I always think would I be happy to pay for this or could I resolve myself and with this one I'm just not sure.

Does anyone have any opinions, advice or experience please?

It's so drastic to go straight to halving the dose. If you really must play Russian roulette then at least alternate days eg 25g one day, 50g the next. Then after a good few weeks go 25g for two days, one day 50g etc.

You've nothing to lose by doing it slowly. If you did it really slowly you'd get no withdrawal symptoms at all. I'm at a loss to understand why you would risk a kickback by withdrawing so quickly if I'm honest.

I meant mg, above, not grams!

See if you can get the meds in 10mg tabs. Then you can grade them down in 10mg increments.
