Foundation Recommendations Please

I have been using Avon but find choosing a shade from the brochure is tricky. My present foundation is way too dark. Can anyone recommend one with reasonable coverage, SPF15 minimum & not too pricey?

I think I've spent half my life trying cheap foundations and never found one i like especially.
What I have discovered very recently is Estee Lauder Double Wear applied with a damp sponge. It's been a revelation, and whilst not especially cheap (Think I paid £22 from an outlet) it's one I shall buy over and over again now.

What finish do you like? Matte, dewy etc?

I’m a big fan of the boots Hydraluminous foundation. It’s got a gorgeous finish, and they’ll colour match you in store.

Double Wear fan here. Above poster got a bargain at only £22!

@Dieu There are a few Beauty Outlet places at retail villages, mine came from the one at Cheshire Oaks.
Best bargain I ever had there was the Estee Lauder Re Nutriv foundation in a pot for £25. Googled it when I got home and it was over £80 a pot. Needless to say it was used for special occasions only 😂

Wowsers, I salute you for your bargain hunting skills!
I paid £34 for my Double Wear from Debenhams, the other day Shock. It came with a 'free' gift, so I thought it worth paying a bit extra. Wish they'd do a discount if you took in your old bottle for recycling!

The only small complaint I have about Double Wear is the bottle. I find myself trying to drip small amounts on the back of my hand to apply it but cant think of a better solution.

I was amazed to find both products actually, they usually have shades that aren't that popular so to find products in what DH lovingly terms 'corpse white' was a bit of a surprise.

I'd been using kat Von D for a while but found that a bit drying on my skin.

I’m sure you can buy a pump for the double wear bottle - I don’t know how to do a link but if you google you’ll see most places seem to stock them.
I know it all adds to the cost but worth it if it makes things easier

DaftCat · 11/02/2020 13:41

You can buy a pump for DW. Amazon or eBay both sell them. Amazon has two for £5.99. It’s well worth it. I think they fit some Mac bottles too.

SistersOfPercy · 11/02/2020 13:52

Oh you two are amazing! £4.99 Amazon for 2. Ordered. Thank you!

Daughter uses Mac so will see if the spare fits hers.

I use Vichy dermablend and it is my absolute favourite, though I do get a lot of redness on my cheeks so the Vichy is a corrective. My absolute all time favourite though is Armani, which is £££ 😫

Bunnylady54 · 11/02/2020 18:32

barbedbloom I tend to get red patches so the Vichy might be good - what sort of price is it?
