Anyone else having hayfever symptoms?

I know - middle of February, it sounds crazy, but this is when mine started last year. I've got horribly itchy eyes, itchy nose and been sneezing quite a bit. Not been eating or using anything different that I might be reacting to. Anyone else having similar?

This is going to sound silly but my dog is getting his usual annual hayfever symptoms! Dry skin and itchy eyes. It's far too early but as the weather has been so mild that is was we are putting it down too. You aren't alone if that helps 😀

AnneOfCleavage · 11/02/2020 09:38

OMG yes. I thought i was just run down and I've been awaiting what I thought was a cold to come out but perhaps it's early hayfever. Sneezing, clear runny nose, scratchy throat and itchy eyes.

My DD has her GCSEs this year so I've just stared her 120mg dose of fexofenadine plus spoonful of local honey in the hope of getting it in her system early but maybe not so early after all. She's run down too and a bit sneezy but no itchy eyes but most of her year are coughing and ill so thought she was getting one too. She's started her nose spray too.

Must be the mild winter we've had so far.

Im a flipping mess. Nose and sinus pain, constant snuffling. If I could claw out my eyes I would. My gums and inner ears are itching like crazy.
It's miserable. I've already taken 2 x gp antihistimines and sinus pills and nothing is touching it. In a right grump about it!!!

Yes, i started sneezing, itchy eyes last saturday. Its a long time since i experienced symptoms this early but i believe its tree pollen.

Lottapianos · 11/02/2020 10:04

Ok thanks everyone. Going to start antihistamines today. Hope we all feel better soon!

mynameiscalypso · 11/02/2020 10:06

Yup! Always starts in Feb here; I think it's when some of the trees start producing pollen. I've been on antihistamines for a few weeks now.

Hefzi · 11/02/2020 10:07

Yes here, too, for a couple of weeks - it's been such a mild winter everything seems to be pollening away like mad...

TweetUsOnFacebook · 11/02/2020 10:29

Yes! I think it could be the storm blowing stuff around. I've had this windows open for the first time in a few says today and I'm sneezing like crazy.

Stopyourmessingaround · 11/02/2020 13:08

Yup. I've had the annual scratchy, sore roof of mouth and extreme thirst for past 10 days or so. Daffodils are well and truly out round our way so I'm guessing tree pollen must be early, too.

Redshoeblueshoe · 11/02/2020 13:11

Yes I've been like this for a week now, and last year I started in February too.

I always get it this early - i dimly.remember reading it's a particular type of pollen now - pussy willow maybe?

IpanemaGallina · 11/02/2020 13:13

Yes me too. I thought it was a cold coming on.

slipperywhensparticus · 11/02/2020 13:14

Well my neighbours tree is fractured all over the place so I'm thinking the tree pollen is in the debris

milliefiori · 11/02/2020 13:15

Yes. It's a particular tree pollen that comes out in February. Last year was the worst ever. I ended up with asthma. This year I have been dreading it but so far only sneezes and itchy eyes. Seems not to be so full on. Yet.

JeanMichelBisquiat · 11/02/2020 13:15

Here you go - loads of the fuckers are already pollening, and don't forget the spores!!

Thanks to this thread, I've just started my once-a-day Loratadine tabs.
I've been necking all the cold and flu remedies that Morries have in their aisles for about 3 weeks now.
Fingers X'd.

dustibooks · 11/02/2020 15:33

Yep - both DH and I have started with the sneezing and itchy eyes today.

Blackthorn has just come into flower round here, and I'm blaming that.

milliefiori · 11/02/2020 21:52

Is it the blackthorn? We have a lot of that locally.
