Hello, just wondering if anyone has ever been successful in mediation via video link?
My ex partner lives down south and is refusing to take part in mediation in his sons home town, he has tried to do mediation via whatsapp for quite some time and I have refused as I feel this is unprofessional, video can lag, lose signal, easily hit the red button etc. I said I would do it if I could go to a room and he tap in via video, he said this isn't possible so I found my own mediation method which meant he can come up at a weekend when he was already here, I paid for the MIAM and he has also refused this. I told the mediation company that I will have to do it his way or it just won't happen and I was told that he has been strongly advised to mediate on my terms. I have since got advice from a solicitor and I have been told that video mediation almost never works and I should just refuse his way however I would really prefer to not have to go back to court. Any help/advice and good or bad stories will be much appreciated please.
