Mobile phone for old MIL

Now I know you all have 90 year old parents who are brilliant on tech. But my MIL is not. She had a basic mobile phone for years that has dies. She wants advice on a phone that she can make calls on, get texts and receive and send emails. That is all.
She does not want a large one, but one that can fit in her pocket. And she does not want to spend too much money.
Any ideas of what I can recommend? I would set up the email for her.

Have you looked at the Doro range? Designed to be just this.

We got my dad a Doro flip phone. Large buttons, large screen but small enough to fit into his pocket and the flip means it doesn't pocket dial (he's in a wheelchair, pocket dialling can be a problem)

Think it only cost approx £40-50

Thanks, no I hadn't

90yrs old and sending e mails - I'm very impressed with your DM! My DM is 83 and keeps forgetting how to even unlock her mobile phone (two keys, no lock code). She wouldn't have any idea how to text or send emails and is determined not to learn. She's otherwise quite bright, but "doesn't do tech" Grin.

My DM has a Dorro flip phone. She manages ok with it.

I think the Doro range is excellent! Easy to use, easy to unlock, big buttons. There are phones/ settings that can be used as emergency help buttons etc.

Oh Christ my dgm is mental with buying mobile phones. She’s 86 and currently she has three - the one she uses is always switched off.

I remember going in to a Voda phone store fuming because they kept selling her cheap contracted phones she could not use.

I gave her an old iPhone which is really easy to use but she still struggled with that and is now back on one I can’t even use!

I might look at the one suggested on her though. Does it have a camera?

The doro one looks great! Off to Argos then..

Yes I have had the conversation about not having the phone switched off when she is out. She only switches it on when she wants to use it. She did not get it at all.

I'm trying to persuade my mum to get an iPhone. As she can manage an iPad no problem. But struggles with her android phone . As do I and my dad. She's only 67 and not at all elderly though.
