My daughter finishes school next summer so am toying with the idea of getting away before schools break up. Going with another family so minimum of 6 poss 8 people. Really fancy Italy. The ideal would be a few days in a lovely city then on to a more relaxed villa but still within reach of good day trips and ideally lakes. Happy to use train in Italy or hire a car. Any top suggestions on area, the last time I went to Italy was the Lido de Jesolo in a caravan when I was 15! We all love food and a bit of shopping and exploring but not too worried about seaside.
