Breast clinic referral

Hi I'm new to this site.
I was referred today to a breast clinic by my GP. A few weeks ago I noticed slight dimpling/puckering on the bottom of my right breast. I didn't get it checked straight away as I didn't know what it was to be honest and I couldn't feel any lumps. I checked it again yesterday and noticed it had gotten worse and had gone up the side of my breast so booked an appointment straight away. My GP couldn't feel any lumps either but referred me to a breast clinic as the dimpling was obvious and said better to be safe than sorry. I'm only 22, I have a little girl 22 months. Has anyone gone through this before or could reassure me I'm an absolute wreck. I should receive my letter by the end of next week from my referral my GP told me.

Not on this specific subject but didn't want to read and run.
I'm such a worrier and get a wreck about things too. I work in dentistry and it's good your doctor sent of a referral straight away! Just remember one of the reasons they sent it off is because they are not specialist in this subject. We send off a lot of suspected oral cancer referrals even though the dentist is 99% sure it isn't we have to send it off because like the dentist say they don't specialise in this so better to be safe than sorry. My point is after rambling (sorry) your GP has a few reasons to send you to a specialist. Try not to think the worse. I'm the worst and fearing the worse outcome so I know it will be hard.
I hope you get good results and get a speedy referral Thanks

Thankyou PixieDustt. Im a natural worrier. I've taken comfort in what you've said so thankyou! I didn't really look at it that way before. I think I'm just worrying because I've left it a few weeks as I first noticed it before Christmas and wish I'd got it checked earlier as it's very noticeable now but I just wasn't educated on breast dimpling, as I said im only 22 and just assumed all you look for is lumps when you examine your breasts. Hopefully my appointment comes sooner rather than later as I'm thinking the worst but finger and toes crossed ❤

There's a standard 2 week referral for breast lumps/issues. Most women get put on that. It's horrible waiting but the odds are that it's nothing.

Please try not to worry (easier said than done I know)

I’ve been referred and all was well. My mum and sister both had breast cancer so I have yearly mammograms. This years picked up changes from last year so I was referred under the two week process. I was very worried but all was well - it was just benign changes.

Good luck. At least the two weeks means you don’t have long to worry x
