For me, it's that despite mental illness I hold down a job and my kids seem like nice people. You?

To have become a functioning and decent (I hope!) adult after growing up in an emotionally abusive household. It's taken many years but I'm really pleased with what I've accomplished.

My son. And tbh, the fact that I'm still here. I grew up in an abusive household, my health is shit and so many things have gone wrong for me, but I keep going.

doing a degree at the age of 40 may only have got a 2.2 but due to circumstances never got the chance as a teenager to go to uni

For fighting to stay alive when every fibre of my being wanted me to kill myself!!

Iwonder777 · 07/02/2020 21:50

Gosh, not just me then!

Although they are no longer here, I am proud of my parents. I regret not telling them that while they were still alive, but I didn't fully appreciate or realise the struggles they had, but done so without complaining, which is probably why I didn't realise.
