We have won a 7 night Eurocamp holiday plus ferry crossings. We can go anytime apart from July/August so thinking May half term. DH doesn’t mind driving and we have 3 under 7 so want to take our car

We’ve never been on a Eurocamp holiday so any tips gratefully received

Congratulations!

Take lots of in car entertainment. It gets long and boring and stressed driving thro France.

We did it two years ago to vendee in west France and loved it. Only issue was we drove from Scotland so it took forever hence the need for lots of entertainment for the car.

I'm envious, OP - I had many happy Eurocamp and Canvas holidays as a kid. No site suggestions but we often went to the west coast - Vendée and Gironde - and it was beautiful.

We loved La Croix Du Vieux Pont not far from Disneyland Paris, and also Le Carys Plage in the Vendee. Congratulations, I'm very jealous!

This is all very helpful. Thank you. We wondered about the Netherlands but as we are going in May, I think it might be a bit chilly and like Center Parcs weather. We were hoping if we went further south, then the weather might be hotter. I do like the look of Ile de Re though.

DH is set on driving so we are going to essentially make it 9 days and have a night to break the journey up each way. Not sure if this is mad!

I would certainly recommend the il de Rae, especially if you like a bit of cycling as you can hire bikes and pop the children in - then use 100 km of segregated cycle tracks with the dc

I would take a good stock of food, it’s not cheap here and will make it more economical

We’ve been to Camping La Sirene, South of France during May half term & the weather was great, it has a fabulous pool complex (including heated indoor pools) & was warm enough to swim outdoors. We had a great time & would definitely recommend!
