Parking thread

Reginabambina · 07/02/2020 18:23

This isn’t going to be too exciting but thought I’d post anyway because it’s been a while since we’ve had a parking thread. We have an assigned parking space in a private car park where everyone has an assigned space. No visitor spaces and no street parking in the vicinity. An unknown CF who does not have an assigned space has been parking in various spaces over the past month preventing residents from using their spaces (we hypothesise he is a commuter due to location and the times he is found parked there). DH has snapped and blocked in CF today as he is in our space. DH’s car is not obstructing anyone else. He’s currently wondering whether to move his car or leave it overnight. Will update if anything interesting happens.

rubbish bins tie to his fenders/wheels etc

DownWhichOfLate · 07/02/2020 19:24

He drives to the gym?!

onlyk · 07/02/2020 19:26

If you don’t have a car ask one of your neighbours or phone a friend.

BaolFan · 07/02/2020 19:26

Block the CF in!!

HeidiHoNeighbour · 07/02/2020 19:28

Where do you live op?

One of us will come round and block them in!
I’ll even stay in the car - I’m quite feisty

TheReluctantCountess · 07/02/2020 19:29

I’d be blocking him in and then getting too drunk to move my car tonight!

Disfordarkchocolate · 07/02/2020 19:30

Surely you have a friend who needs to pop round to discuss how wimpy your husband is!

fedup21 · 07/02/2020 19:32

Is it still there?

Ifeelinclined · 07/02/2020 19:36

Take a pic of the car and walk over to the office with it. Tell them to stop their employees from parking there.

TomeOfSomething · 07/02/2020 19:37

is there anyone else who can block the CF in?

strawberry2017 · 07/02/2020 19:40

The only way these rude people learn is when people make a stand. All the owners of the spaces should start blocking anyone in who shouldn't be there and they will get the message!

BornInAThunderstorm · 07/02/2020 19:41

I can only recommend you LTB

katewhinesalot · 07/02/2020 19:43

Surely your neighbors will want to help if they are all pissed off. Perfect opportunity.

BunnytheElephant · 07/02/2020 19:44

Definitely LTB

lollybee1 · 07/02/2020 19:45

Phone a friend!!!

In response to various posts:

Sadly I do not have a car (or anyone in short driving distance free on a Friday night) to block him back in. DH drives to the gym because the nice gym is next town over. Don’t have neighbours phone numbers and don’t particularly fancy going around knocking on doors of people I barely know with children because they’d probably think I was bonkers. Might make the suggestion next time I see them in the car park though.

Apparently DH’s defence is that he’s complained to the people that own the car park - somehow I really don’t think that will be effective. Will be back with an update when DH returns.

@Ifeelinclined might do that on Monday, at least that way we’ll know for sure if he works there.

Bloody love a parking thread.

I’m feeling particularly annoyed for you OP as we have just moved to a house with a similar set up. However, our neighbours have two cars and one of them keeps parking in my space. We’ve only been here a week and I’m already full of rage about coming back and not being sure where I’ll be able to park if they’ve beaten me home! Angry

MrMeSeeks · 07/02/2020 20:04

Get dh back in that space or cf will never learn!!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/02/2020 20:15

Reg you need to go and wait in the car park , if he (and we're all assuming it's a "He" ) is a commuter , he'll be along soon.

Either lob some bird seed over his roof (in daylight) so he comes back to a nicely decorated windscreen or
Trundle about with a torch declaring that "my elderly neighbour spilled a box of nails , just trying to find them all, can't have poor Jeff scrambling about on his hands and knees"

What happened on alphabet street in the end? Can anyone link me to update?
In this scenario is it VERY clear this is a private space and that they all are? Block in if so

CoffeeRunner · 07/02/2020 20:33

Is the car still there? Is DH back from the gym? How on earth could he need the gym so desperately at a time like that?!?

stophuggingme · 07/02/2020 20:42

I was going to ask if he was called Gary or Barry but he’s gone to the gym so I know he isn’t Wink

Nanna50 · 07/02/2020 21:16

Oh I’m so disappointed Sad Does your DH not understand parking threads?
