So I’m 11 weeks pregnant and have HG.. Iv been in hospital 3 times for at least 3-4 bags of fluid each time.. Iv been given anti sickness medication which helped at first but I’m not good. I have a little boy who is 6 and demands a lot of my attention. My partner had to leave work for for 2month but has just gone back as we need the money. I’m not sure what to do. I’m just stuck in this house all the time as I can’t walk far or stand up for too long. It’s really getting to me! After the hospital I’m okay for a few days but then it hits me again. Sorry for the long post I just don’t have anyone to talk to about it as no one understands and things I’m overreacting but it’s just awful!. I just want someone to understand and abit of advice how to keep the nausea and sickness at bay!!

Sorry to hear that, I also have HG but very well medicated now. I know how awful it can be. What meds are you on?

Steroids, ondansetron, metoclopromide and cyclizine.

It's definitely worth adding metoclopromide initially. Also what dose of ondansetron? You can take up to 24mg a day. I take 8mg three times a day. If that doesn't work I would be pushing for steroids as well.

Are you taking omeprazole? I find it helps the nausea a bit as I get reflux alongside HG. Lots of people find that helps.

Steroids are my saviour, I was in an awful state before I started them at 11 weeks. They aren't without postential risks - mostly to you as after 9 weeks the baby has a formed palate and lip and cleft is one of the risks.
