Does anyone keep a journal?

Or diary? If so what do you write and what do you get from it?

I like the idea but feel like I wouldn't know where to start or what to put 🙈

I always used to until one year things were so bad I couldn’t write.

When I do I just write all my feelings out in a muddle. Or lists of things I need to do. Things that are bothering me etc.

I don’t really keep a dairy per say but I do keep a little notebook calendar that I write in every night before bed

Just what I did that day eg. Went to work. Hard day. Cheryl in accounting is annoying me today. Visited mum after work and had spag Bol for tea.

I just like to look back and see what I was doing on the exact day in years past.

That's a nice idea. I actually have one of those a line a day jotters that you're supposed to write in daily for five years. Not sure id keep up with it though! I like to write and I'm just trying to find ways to get back into it gently.

I want to resurrect mine. It used to be about relationships then it was 'feeling very x, y thing happened, must do z'. Or 'god so much to do' and a few bullet points.

I don't want to start again until I have decided what it's for though.

I used to, it really helped to clear my head. I need to start doing it again because I have too much going on.

I have a bullet journal with a monthly review page which I use like a journal. That is a happy medium for me as I have space to do that but if I leave it for a few days then I don't feel pressured

Like @Southernfried I write a line everyday about what I've done. Been doing it for 34 years now Shock

It is interesting to look back and very useful for remembering what year we went on which holiday etc

I have a planner that is about daily tasks, monthly goals and yearly goals.
I have a daily diary I write in each day about how I'm feeling and then I reflect later in the day. If in struggling with something then I have a journal I write and write in. I only buy paperblanks journals, they are beautiful.
Writing is part of the way i deal (crappy past, long term therapy).
