Child tonsillectomy

Hi, putting this up here for a broader range of responses. I am aware this sounds ridiculous but I've been given a date next month for my 5 year old DS's tonsillectomy and I am panicking about his immune system being low with Coronavirus on the horizon. Would you go ahead with that operation at this time?

Yes I would go ahead. My dd got hers out at around the same age (a few years ago now) and the almost immediate difference it made to her health and tbh our day to day life was substantial. If I was weighing that up against the possibility of her immune system being low and Coronavirus I wouldn't even blink.
