Hey my son gets high care dla and we recently filled in a mobility form as he’s over 3 now. I called them today as I didn’t get a txt saying they received the form and they are saying 17 wks for a decision. It only toke then 4 wks the last time :(

DS1 was 16 back in October so we had to reapply, but for PIP. I phoned as I hadn't heard and was told and recieved confirmation in writing that there were extensions for applications. We've just had a letter to say his DLA is continuing to his 17th Birthday (Oct 20) or until a PIP claim is processed. Serious backlog going on.

Yeah we did it last year and it was 15 weeks - they do backdate it to the date of receipt of the form, if it’s awarded.

Did both of you have to wait for pead reports and to be seen ? As I’ve sent in lots of reports and risk assessments so hopefully can bypass that

We haven't been seen on DLA but have always had numerous recent consultants reports. Fully expecting to be seen as part of the PIP application.

Yes,we applied for HRM for our son in 2019 and it took 19 weeks for a decision.

I don't think you ever have to be seen for DLA. We renewed in November and it only took 2 weeks, despite them saying it would take months. Although I did then have to do a Mandatory Reconsideration as they knocked us down to Middle Rate - I then got High Rate reinstated and backdated.

Also, we sent in shedloads of reports from multiple professionals, risk assessments etc. Didn't seem to speed it up unfortunately. They did backdate to date of application.

Reading with interest. I applied two weeks ago and am yet to hear anything. This is to have it renewed in May.
Have sent off all the reports so am just waiting for a decision now but appears that it a decision may take some time!

When I first applied I also sent in lots of reports etc and they didn’t ask any of his team to send anything new in and that was only a month but looks like we just got lucky. I’d update when I hear as there’s not much recent information online for others to google
