Has anyone ever had their driving license revoked for medical reasons?

How long after submitting the forms did it take to get yours back?

It may have changed now but it used to be that you could drive as soon as you'd sent the forms back, while you were waiting for the licence to come through. This was a good few years ago so it might have changed.

You have a licence. The s denotes a verb, as in to license.

@ginandtonicformeplease Unfortunately I've looked at my entitlements using the driving licence number I had and now have no entitlements until they say so. I've had the thumbs up verbally and written confirmation from my G.P. and consultant, saying they're happy for me to drive.
I just need the go ahead from DVLA now.
Just wondered if anyone knew of the current waiting times.
It's been 4 months since I sent my forms back

That's odd. I have a medical condition that means I sometimes have to give up my licence for up to 6 months, when the condition isn't well controlled by meds . I have found the DVLA great and have usually got my licence back within a couple of weeks. I would chase them up.

I have chased them and have been told it's still with the medical investigation team.
I chase every couple of weeks. They must be fed up with me ringing

Thankyou @bohomie its been a ridiculous journey, sorry i dont have a better experience to share with you! Fingers crossed mine is an anomaly and you get yours back soon

I "voluntarily" surrendered mine for a medical reason, otherwise it would have been taken away.

Following a heart scan I got the all clear from hospital and GP to drive again. I submitted the form to Dvla together with a letter from my GP & a hospital letter to support that I could drive safely. I checked with Dvla who said I could drive again once they'd received my letter (which I sent by email) as my doctor said I could. It took a further 3 or 4 months to send the actual licence back.
