Has anyone got John Lewis broadband?

Is it any good? Thinking of switching from unhelpful BT. Or any other suggestions for rolling contract? We’re moving abroad in 4 months but contract with BT has just finished and the minimum they do is 2 years. John Lewis have a 12 month contract which works out cheaper. I’m exhausted from very young children not sleeping and cannot make a decision!

We switched to them in December. First bill was wrong as they'd charged us a termination fee (for joining!) Few other billing issues. However, was quite easy to sort out and they were very helpful on the phone. Refund came quickly. I was pleased with customer service.

We chose them as they had a good deal for 12 month contract. If you're moving though there will probably be a early termination fee?

My FIL did and left within a few months before the Contract ended because the speed was not what they claimed it would be, bills were incorrect and the connection was offline for more time than online.

They parted ways at Christmas.

We have. I think it’s actually provided by plusnet though - from my experience the customer service hasn’t been what I’d expect from John Lewis.

Yes, PP is correct - they are owned by Plusnet. Not a fan of Plusnet. We swapped from them and they continued to bill us and didn't shut the account.

Thank you for the feedback. It feels like BT have a monopoly when you live out in the countryside!

We're with John Lewis. I've found their customer service very helpful on the rare occasions I've had to use it, but the speeds are woeful (we were rural, but there have been a lot of housing developments in the area since we signed up) and it's impossible for us to watch anything on iPlayer if DD is watching Netflix or going anything online upstairs. I can't cope witbbthe stress of trying to move to BT though.

OP, I posted about my FIL.
I’m really rural, about 40 properties within a 3 mile radius, one village shop, you get the picture. We were stuck with Plusnet then Sky came into play.

Some locals use Gigaclear at £60pcm. Someone else uses Rapid Rural at something like £180pcm but that gives them superfast 5G I think.

DeepDarkWoods · 06/02/2020 07:07

I really dont recommend them. We had a terrible time with them. Now we are with sky and have not had a problem since.

LittleG69 · 06/02/2020 07:29

We were with them for a couple of years but the service got progressively worse (mainly slow speed). We are not rural (small town 4 miles outside a big city). We switched to Sky; no problems and quick enough for what we need to do
