Parenting

People struggle to believe professional diagnosis (autism) if your child doesn’t fit their pre-conceived notion of it (either Rain man clever or non-verbal, meltdowns).

Parenting teens is HARD. I just thought they were arses for a few years before I had them myself.

*for a presidential candidate. - which has made me extremely worried that if he is the Democrats candidate (great though he is) that Trump may get in again. Just as we are desperately needing better trade agreements...

Parenting - when they’re young it’s all about distraction. If they start kicking off about something ridiculous do not waste energy getting angry. Put your energy in to distracting them with something else

From surveying my own adult friendship group, those with the best emotional health now felt unconditionally loved by their parents as children. Money and lifestyle were irrelevant. Do everything you can to make your child feel secure in your love.

The very best feelings I experience are free. Warmth of the sun on my skin, warm ground under bare feet, the joy of children, relationships with family and friends, the beauty of nature, laughing, exercising etc.

Personal: I am so fortunate to live in a nation where I have a considerable degree of autonomy over my life. Despite the extremely difficult start, I ultimately can direct and control my life.

The World: T-rex lived closer in Earth's timeline to Man than they did to the Stegosaurus. This just blows my mind, and really amazed me when I found it out. It really puts the concept of age into context for me.

Parenting: They arrive with their personality fully-formed. I was seriously shocked by that.

I don't know where this falls, the world maybe? Fallopian tunes aren't actually attached to your ovaries, they just suction on when you ovulate. So if you have one Fallopian tube removed, you can still ovulate from both ovaries, you'd Fallopian tube just moves between them.

Perhaps other people already knew this but I only found out a few weeks ago and frankly I'm still reeling.

@JosephineTheFlip re Bernie Sanders, of course Trump is already 73, so not particularly younger. Though, of course, he is the healthiest 73yo in the world, as certified by his doctor...

I'm glad other people are as shocked by the Fallopian tube revelation as I am and I didn't just miss an important biology lesson.

Fallopian tube...mind blown. But yes, I have known of one case of someone conceiving with just one, fairly damaged, ovary (after other taken out with huge damage) so that kind of fits as well.
