Why is dentistry stressful?

Genuine question; in no way intended to be at all goady!

I'm interested in knowing what aspects of the profession make it stressful? I'm not denying it, there are plenty of reliable studies out there, I know.

It’s worse privately. Well it was for me. Patients with bizarre expectations, awful about paying. Still pressure to earn, the regulations are the same. The risk of litigation higher (well it felt it).
Pretty crass discussing how to spend all the earnings. Mine mostly goes on childcare.

All of the points raised by pp. Particularly keeping up with all the legislation, managing a business which is getting less in year on year in real terms as costs go up and everyone needs pay rises. Patients who cannot understand or accept why things are needed yet cheerfully tell you they will sue if you are to blame in any way And want someone to blame. Also insurance companies that will settle to make things go away despite not having done anything wrong and documentation to prove. Nowhere to refer to anymore as it’s all so overwhelmed. Despite everything I love getting people over fear and out of pain so carry on plodding with the nhs.
