Child benefit - changed bank details

Recently switched banks at beginning of Jan so did a change of circumstances on HMRC website and updated bank details for child benefit.

I haven't had any sort of correspondence though confirming the change and I'm worried it won't get paid on Monday when it's due.

Has anyone done this and had it paid in ok? Starting to panic as I've added the child benefit into my monthly budget and I'll be quite short if I don't receive it

Did you switch banks using the switching service - ie was all your money, SOs and DDs switched over automatically? If it was, payments sent to your old account will be redirected to your new account. I think they inform the companies who pay in to your account too... I'm cant remember if HMRC payments are switched automatically or if you need to contact them Smile

I'd ring them. I recently changed banks and used the online change of circumstances. I know it takes a while with HMRC so I just waited. In the end I had to ring them after three months of the child benefit appearing in the account I wanted to close. The lady I spoke to said they could see the change but had no idea why it hadn't been applied. I don't think I would rely on the online form tbh.

I switched accounts using the switching service and got a letter from HMRC confirming they had updated my details before I even thought about it. They may have done it anyway.
