I'm feeling scared about the appointment. I know from my GP that scans in September to find out why my left leg went on indefinite strike were clear. However, since then, my right leg decided that solidarity with my left leg was the way forward.
The worry is made worse by the fact that there's no one available to go to the appointment with me.

Oh, you poor thing, it must be worrying. Thinking of you.

I’m so sorry you have to go on your own. I hope the consultant is kind. Try and make sure that you understand exactly what has been said by the end of the appointment and what the next steps are, if any, and the time frame for them. Check with him/her that they’ll send you a copy of the letter that they send to the GP. I hope it goes as well as it can

Thank you. I had to phone my GP earlier to make an appointment and broke down on the phone to the receptionist when they said they hoped that any tests I need come back as normal.

Back from my appointment. Now being sent for scans of my spine to see if that can shed some light on what's happening. My right leg decided that solidarity was overrated when the consultant did a pin test on my right foot. My left leg does not think that was a good enough reason.

Oh I hate it when theres more waiting. Did they give you any ideas or rule anything out?

Roselilly36 · 04/02/2020 17:35

Hand hold OP, MRI of the spine should hopefully reveal the issue, they may want to do your head as well. Try not to worry too much. Once you know the cause, you can have the treatment you need. Waiting for these things is always tough. Good luck.

The only thing that's known for certain is that it isn't caused by my brain as the scan of that in September was clear.

Are you sure nobody is free to go with you? If a friend going through this messaged me I would definitely take the day off to go and support them.

That’s good news that your head MRI was clear, I am not a clinician, but I have gone through the same process of elimination. For me lesions were found on my brain and two areas of inflammation in my spinal cord, I was dx was MS. As your brain was clear, that should rule out MS I would have thought, which is good news. Good luck OP.
