How busy is West Croydon station?

Hoping I get lucky and someone can help. I need to change trains at West Croydon station at about 8.30am, boarding a London Overground train towards Highbury & Islington. Is this likely to be ok? Not fussed if the train is busy, just concerned if it's too full to get on. TIA

It's peak travelling time. If I were you, I'd be looking at 7.30am as far more realistic, as the platform gets absolutely packed, especially with so many secondary schools nearby.

That's what I suspected. I'll maybe take a different route that avoids the need to change trains. Its slower in theory but better than missing the train completely. Thanks
