Hi ladies, I have searched Google and mumsnet but not found an answer to this specific question, when you sign up to fabletics to get two pairs of leggings for £24 do they just take the £24 in the first instance and then try and take £44 the next month?

I want the offer and will happily sign up to the VIP but then cancel it before the next month but I dont want to pay £44 for the first purchase as after I get the two for £24 there will still be £20 in the account I dont want to spend

Does that make any sense? Any help appreciated? And if anyone can confirm the leggings are squat proof that would also be good Grin

It’s always sounds like a massive scam to me - and I’ve heard the quality isnt that great. It’s like any direct debit scheme - They want to get you locked in so they can take money every month and make it difficult for you to cancel. I’d avoid.

Sweaty Betty leggings are great - expensive at about £90 a pair but mine have lasted me 3 years (and I wear them 3-4 times a week!)

Yeah £90 is way too much for me to spend on one pair unfortunately. I've got no issue sitting on the phone for ages to cancel the subscription I just dont want to pay £44 in the first instance. I've heard the quality is good

You pay for the first lot and then get subscribed for the following month. So long as you remember to skip the month before the 5th they don't take any money out. The leggings are amazing. They are small in size though so order up if in doubt.

I've ordered from them. They really are very good quality and fit. However I don't want to pay every month or order as many pairs as they'd like me to! So I pay through pay pal and then after they've arrived go straight in to pay pal on line and cancel the repeat payment.

FourStarsShine · 03/02/2020 16:40

I ended up getting charged £44 twice when I just wanted to cancel. They refunded one but not the other. Expensive leggings 😤

Have a look at H&M leggings. I've had a couple of lovely pairs for £20, they're good quality and nice and tight.

I definitely wouldn't want to get signed into monthly legging payment!

FourStarsShine · 03/02/2020 16:43

Oh and I got nothing for the second lot of £44!!

FourStarsShine · 03/02/2020 16:43

Agree with H&M, quality is very similar!

2020runner · 03/02/2020 17:02

Oh okay I'll have a little look at H&M thanks

I think they rely on people forgetting to cancel the ongoing payment. I get my leggings from TK Maxx, Brand Alley and Zulily. I have one pair from a company called Yogi Heaven, which are really comfortable, but they took a long time to arrive.

Oh no, this is what I've been afraid of, I appreciate everyone trying to help I really do but now I have too many options and brands 😂 I hate how much choice of differing quality there is

Another vote for H + M. I find the quality on par with Nike, they wash well and take a battering. Also squat proof too. I find I need to size down from my normal dress size.

Mine have lasted years and still fit well and look good.
