How can I do Disney Florida on a budget? Help please.

I am thinking of arranging a family trip to Florida Disney etc in late June and early July 2021. DS will have finished GCSEs and I can take younger sibling out of school (special school - no issue with term-time holidays due to needs of the child).
I don't really know where to start!! We usually book self-catering villas in Europe, when we did Disneyland Paris we booked a Gite nearby.
I'm thinking to do everything separately would be cheaper - is it or should I be looking at packages?

Are you looking to stay on Disney property, a villa or in a hotel on international drive?

We usually book flights with virgin and through Disney for the hotel. We try to get the 'free' dining but we always upgrade that to get a better deal.

Free dining is usually in April, but you have to be staying on property.
For context 3 hot dogs (with crisps), 2 cokes and 2 beers cost just shy of $50 at Hollywood studios in September.

We usually hire a car through Alamo but I think I'm the future we will just stay in Disney and use the free transport as it's $25 per day parking at the parks. You also have to pay to park at the Disney hotels now.

On our last minute trip, we tried to do a cheap one!! We stayed in Clarion Inn lake Buena vista and that was a cheap but clean hotel not too far from the parks - around a 10 minute drive but close to restaurants. We paid around £1700 for flights and hotel.

We have stayed in both moderate and value Disney hotels, can highly recommend both.

Thanks - I was thinking of villa/apartment and car hire but interesting point about the cost of parking.
Are there any concessions for parking if you are disabled?

Yes, they have a disabled car park closer to the entrance. Obviously you need to show a valid badge and the standard parking fee applies.
