Curious to know if anyone keeps a diary anymore and if so what sorts of things do you write about? As in a reflective journal rather than a calendar.

I wrote teenage diaries which I binned and kept one on and off in my 30s. Wondering about resurrecting it. It sort of feels a bit self indulgent and everyday life is so busy. Perhaps a mindfulness practise would be more helpful.

Interested to hear from others.

It's a good way to exorcise issues so they are less likely to revisit you during the night!

I occasionally get out my teenage ones for a laugh.

I do, but I'm not 100% sure why I keep a diary. It's not particularly reflective or emotional, but more of a factual record of what has happened that day. I have a child with additional needs, so I like to keep a record of things relating to that, in terms of phone calls made, letters received, meetings attended etc. I also find if I let my diary lapse I get a bit panicky about not being able to remember when I did things (like meeting up with friends) - writing it down frees up that brain space. I guess it's just become a habit now.
