Any qualified accountants here?

Hi, any qualified accountants here, outside of London and earning over 40K? I know London salaries wouldn't compare to national industry average and I'm outside of London.

If so, do you mind sharing how long did it take you there post qualified and what do you do (job spec).

What experience /skills do you feel got you there? What are hot skills on CV?

Also if a new role outside of the organisation is a new step, how do you search for a new role? Is it recruitment agencies, LinkedIn or something else?

Would much appreciate some feedback.

I'm ACCA qualified and outside of London. Currently earning £50k plus bonus. I have been qualified 12 years. I was earning £60k 4 years ago but chose to take role with less responsibility after having children, so took me 8 years post qualification to get to £60k. I probably couldd have got there quicker but stayed with an organisation for 7 years because I loved the role but knew I could earn more elsewhere. The £60k role was a commercial finance role with 3 direct reports. I am now a business partner with no direct reports. I have a range of skills as I have done financial accounts, management accounts, commercial finance and a project role. Good business partnering skills are helpful so great communication skills, building relationships, conveying finance concepts to non finance people, providing the right level of information/insight to support decision making etc.
I have used an agency, LinkedIn and job sites to search for a new role.

Just an update, I have moved (forcefully through redundancy) to a commercial role and I love it!
I thought my best skills are IFRS and financial reporting but I think I'm better at commercial finance.
There is definitely lots of career routes for accountants..
