I'm sure my hayfever has started. Anyone else?

Itchy eyes, and excema flairing for the last few days. I usually start around Mothering Sunday - daffodils everywhere and tree pollen not far behind. Anyone else suffering?

This morning I took a hay fever tablet and the itching has stopped. Agh! Hope that it is just a coincidence, otherwise it's 7 months of misery instead of the usual 5!

Yes, for the last three weeks we've had hay fever symptoms and so has my brother.

Drinkciderfromalemon · 02/02/2020 15:59

Mine has, though it normally starts in jan and finishes by may - I don't get affected by grass pollen.

jaffaeclipse · 02/02/2020 16:01

I'm envious - I have it from January to October usually.

Yup, bastard catkins out on hazel trees everywhere.

elephantoverthehill · 02/02/2020 16:03

How odd, I've been sneezing all weekend and Dd asked me if it was hay fever, I replied 'What in February?' but I think she might have been right.

Katinski · 02/02/2020 16:23

I've been taking anti-histamine tabs for a couple of weeks and I expect that's going to be the status quo for a while.

Me too. I suffer worst from grass pollen so generally worst May/June/July, but have been sneezing and itchy all day today

Notverygrownup · 05/02/2020 21:51

Been a bit better for the last day or two, so hopefully dampened down by the rain for a while.

Sympathy to all fellow sufferers.

Yes, dd symptoms have started. She’s 11 now but had hay fever since she was 6. It’s amazing how obvious it is. I didn’t think of catkins. We though cherry blossoms - but how could something so beautiful be so harmful!

poppym12 · 05/02/2020 21:55

Yes! I never realised until you asked this. Mine usually starts in March but this week I've had gritty eyes, nose dripping like a tap and an itchy face. I thought I'd developed an allergy to my moisturiser or washing powder which I know is possible but hayfever seems much more likely.

OohMrDarcy · 05/02/2020 21:57

I normally start in april and have been affected for at least the last week, I can only assume its the lack of frosts etc - everything is growing already

waterbottle12 · 05/02/2020 21:58

yes, suddenly a few days ago. The silver birch must be out early.

ShinyGiratina · 05/02/2020 22:06

I've started with the tired, dopey headache between the eyes this week. I normally get it in March to July. There's not much out here. The snowdrops and crocuses are just getting the idea of getting out to party.

mineofuselessinformation · 05/02/2020 22:12

My hay fever season used to be February to November, so yes, I can totally understand.
(As a by the way, I don't seem to suffer with hay fever - or asthma since I moved to a different area of the country, so I can only assume the pollen that set me off isn't here!)

FrankiesKnuckle · 05/02/2020 22:25

Yep - started taking fexofenadine last week.

Working within the NHS, most people assume it's a cold (or 2019 nCoV).

The reaction I get when I say it's hay fever!

joystir59 · 05/02/2020 22:28

No, but my dog's allergies have already fired up.

megletthesecond · 05/02/2020 22:34

13yr old DS's seem to have started, he's been very sneezy this week. I think it's tree pollen.
He had certirizine yesterday and it seems to have kept it at bay today.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 05/02/2020 22:35

Me too, ok today but been sneezy for a few days prior

ProfessorPollington · 05/02/2020 22:37

Yes literally started last Friday itchy eyes and sneezing. Misery.
